Car Registration

My car is nearing it's first birthday and I have to think about insurance and registration renewals. The dealer that I bought the car from did all this initially so it will be a new experiece for me.
Can anyone give me a blow by blow, idiot's guide to this?

What UkEngQatar is wrong...

They will accept atm card also.

You can make it like this --- they will not accept cash...only cards.

You can go to Matar Qadeem Traffic department. If you go in the morning - before 8, its wont take much time.

Try to continue with the same insurance company, as other companies(most of them) will ask for "no objection" from the previous.

1. Renew the insurance first.

Renew it before the insurance due date, otherwise

they will demand you that they want to see the

vehicle.

2. Take a copy of the insurance certificate and got to

any of the traffic department extension counter,

submit along with the old registration card and pay

QR 100 with card.

Since your car is only one year old, a car inspection is not necessary (this only applies to 3 years old and above),Obtain a new car insurance from any insurance agent then go to Madinah Khalifa Traffic or any MOI booth (this is available in Carrefour) and present your car registration card plus the duplicate copy of the insurance and pay QR 100 (note they only accept ATM)and wait for the new car registration card to be processed this normally takes less that 2 minutes).
