Great idea for cycle paths. I have been looking at google earth and definately will not be getting a car. there are some of us who do not like to drive ( even with ridiculous low price on fuel). Messaied is the ideal place to start a trial. there are alot of Norwegian there, and British and I guess Dutch- no one EVER usecd a car to get to school in norway. I do not have a car in the UK. I found living in the states really hard, and even walking 100 m along a road meant up and over car parks - not designed for wlakers and certainly not for cyclists. MAKE A START PLEASE- this could be an examople to the rest of Qatar. When people see how great cycling is ( even in 45degrees) it could take off. Make sure there is some physiacl barrier- as ME drivers are crazy- and separate underpass etc like in norway- so that kids can get to school without even being on the m,ain road. the cycle paths are spearate. i do notn think UK spainsh / german style lanes would cut it . I am bringing my bike- whenn will they be ready?
In many places you can't even walk safely never mind cycle. I think the government should build decent footpaths that are wide enough to accommodate cycle lanes. A good example of these types of lanes can be found in Germany. I wouldn't want to ride on cycle lanes on the road as they do in the UK; especially considering the way people drive in Qatar.

Do we have enough roads for the cars here and we are discussing about separate paths for cycles? hahaha!!!
Definately agree we need more cylce lanes and encourage people to cycle.. more..
I will try to look into your request and open seperate sub ways for different type/makes of cycles.

There are lots of sports that are not yet well developed and perhaps not fully recognized yet in Qatar.
