UAE Visa
Hello,
I am Turkish citizen teaching at Qatar University. My residence permit bears the title "Lecturer" as my position. I was hired last year in September by the university. I have lived in Qatar almost 15 months now. I am going to attend a conference in Dubai in March. I got a ticket from Qatar Airways. I am going to stay at a friend's place and do not have a hotel reservation.
1. Do I need a visa beforehand?
2. Can't I get a visa upon arrival? Turkey is not included in the countries that can get visa upon arrival.
3. I am trying to see how flexible things are. A few people told me to take the chance to get the visa upon arrival. They said that I lived for almost 15 months and that is enough for getting a visa upon arrival.
4. If I have to get a visa, what should I do? Where is the UAE Embassy in Qatar?
Thank you very much!
As far as I know only people who have 'mudeer' (Manager) written on their visas can get visa on arrival at Dubai airport. I suggest you visit the UAE embassy to get clarification. It is near City Centre and Four Seasons Hotel on West Bay. Good Luck.
