NOC needed in Qatar?

Hi, I know you must heard about this issue over and over again since this website has been created. However, I was looking for a vivid answer to my questions and I cant seem to find a clear and direct to the point answers.

I am currently working in Dubai and I just landed here a little over than 4 months. Then, an opportunity to work in Doha, Qatar came and I am persuaded to start a career in Doha and leave my current post. The question is: Is it necessary for me to ask for an NOC from my employer in Dubai so that my new company in Doha can easily apply my work visa? Or it isnt material.

Second, I am a self confessed career driven person but I dont mind unwinding every now and then. How different is Doha from Dubai. Bottom line, Am I making the right decision of switching to Doha from Dubai?

Lastly, Do you think that there is any potential that the labor rules in Doha will be made flexible in the future?

Thank you and I hope to hear from everyone who can ply fab advise.

I am from California and I lived my entire life in the US but my family is from Philippines. I realize that in the middle east there are tons of Filipinos and filipino communities are everywhere, why I dont mind joining. However, I would love to meet people from different walks of life. I have noticed in Dubai that they tend to group themselves in accordance to their nationalities...why I find weird because the diversity in Dubai is really fun and something really odd and can never be found elsewhere...

what do u think?

Uhm. Not really sure but i guess in your case you won't be needing an NOC anymore. Of course, there's much more to see in Dubai than Doha but its not really boring here if you try to be open-minded.
