Maybe a drink at The Ramada sometime after 5.30 on Christmas Eve? ;o)

I have a memory imprinted on my mind of my first Christmas in the Middle East. We went to an hotel in Riyadh with friends. It was really very festive - Christmas menu, holly pictures on the napkins etc.

Somewhere between courses, they wheeled out the Filipino Kitchen staff who sang carols to us (rather erratically lol) accompanied by one of them playing his guitar.

It was SO nice!!!!

However, that was about 30 years ago - I doubt it would happen these days :o(

Which obviously they do. Or are you asking if people (with families) have the time off work to go there at 5.00 ....

Me no comprendo.

I think it's a lovely idea, myself :D

They have a pianist in the foyee there in the evenings anyway, so I guess it will just be a case of choral music wafting over you as you pass through to whatever part of The Ramada Plaza you are heading for.

(and I now quote from their flyer!)

"The Ramada Plaza Doha employees add a sense of fun to your evening where we welcome you into our lobby for 30 minutes of both clasical and modern carols sung by an ensemble of voices from around the world"

Very Christmassy inDEED!

Bring your tent, your Christmas tree and your own snow...

Decorate your villa (tent) with the Christmas lights...

Organize the Boxing Day on Dec 26 with the storming the LULU (City Centre, etc) at 7 am, with snatching the good from the shelves, with fight and pugilism...

feel like home :)

there are no don'ts...The Qatari are very tolerant about us having our religious holiday....

Just do as MD said...enjoy the great weather, camp out, go partying...all the clubs will be open.

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

"Around" Doha there is lots of space. Bring your tent, your christmas tree and look for the stars in the sky. Don't forget food and drinks, - and maybe a partner. Romantic.
