It depends on your luck and mostly how you bring them in. I am not against the law but if you are wise enough you can bring them easily. Just pack them seperatly out of there fancy boxes always and ship the box and poker chips seperate. They will never get confiscated.
Small items like poker chips are of not that much concern to authorities on the airports. The most important for them what I believe is drugs, narcotics and weapons kind of stuff.
i btought some two days ago and they checked because they were in the metal case they came in. now they have confiscated them. i am trying to get them back but they are very stubborn.
I brought some, the cheap plastic ones, and had no problems, but a mate of mine had his really nice ones confiscated. Not sure if there is a connection between cheap/fancy as far as detection.
I also found some here at a toy store, but they had no clue what they were.
