Work Visa…How long it takes?

Hi All,

I'm moving from the States to Doha. I've been offered a position at QF on Oct. 27th, and have been waiting for the work visa to come through since Nov. 5th. I understand that there was the EID holiday, and then the National Day that delayed the process, but we're starting to get concerned for the amount of time it's taking to issue the Visa. My company has been telling me they are still waiting and they can't provide me with status on the visa.

Does the Visa take this long to issue normally?

Any thoughts or recommendation will be truly appreciated...

Regards

In applying work entry visa it takes only 2-3 days in the e-gov't (online application) or if manually made in the immigration same case it's good only for maximum of 3 days....more than a week or a month means it's rejected already so better asked if applied or not...

same will help also as what they stated below...need VD NUMBER, SPONOSOR NUMBER ...ECT....

GOOD LUCK DUDES!!

Hi All,

thanks for your quick responses. It's very comforting to know others are in the same boat. Wish all of us the best of luck getting the work visas with the new year.

Happy New Year

Regards

Sam

sam0976, actually the site

http://www.moi.gov.qa/site/english/

can provide you with feedback about the status of your visa (either for visit visa or working visa). Once in the page go to the Visa approval tracking and if the company you will be working for can provide you with the following information then you can check on yourself

Application No. :

Application Submission Date

ID No. of Sponsor / Representative / Entrusted Person

Go to the page, fill in the form and you get an "immediate" reply on your enquiry.

Regards!!!!

Hi Sam, if you look on the forum for visas and permits you will see I have written a topic there describing a situation which is similar to yours. The company I have signed a contract with applied for my visa on the 4th of November and I am yet to hear anything. It appears that a few others are in the same situation. This should provide some form of comfort. My company seems fairly sure that this is quite normal and that I will be getting the visa eventually, so I assume it will be the same for us all. But I understand what you are going through, I would also rather know sooner than later. All the best.
