one month jail.....

I have just received my daily news paper here in my compound. One of the articles on the front page tells of a story about a man being JAILED FOR ONE MONTH AFTER BEING CONVICTED OF RECKLESS DRIVING-----RESULTING IN THE DEATH OF ANOTHER.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE somebody out there tell me that I am dreaming!!!!

WTF? What happened here is called VEHICULAR HOMICIDE folks. Which means...although his intent was not to kill this individual, he DID IN FACT CAUSE THE DEATH OF THE PASSENGER WITH HIS VEHICLE (ALSO KNOWN AS A DANGEROUS WEAPON)

There is no way in HELL ANY LOCAL PERSON is ever going to DRIVE CAREFULLY UNLESS THEY ARE MADE TO UNDERSTAND that when they drive UNSAFELY and cause INJURY to others that there are MAJOR-MAJOR penalties!!!!

Tell me QL, IF I were driving my vehicle and I was convicted of driving recklessly which caused the DEATH OF A QATARIE (obviously I am not from here) WHAT IS MY PENALTY?????? MIND YOU, I DON'T HAVE INSURANCE EITHER.......AND MY BRAKES ARE FAULTY..... Will I spend ONE MONTH in jail and pay only the percentage of injury caused to the 1 PERSON who survived AND have my driving licence and car registration suspended for ONE MONTH and a 10,000 fine????? REALLY, PEOPLE I HAVE TO KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS, SO NEXT TIME I NEED TO GO TO THE STORE OR DRIVE TO WORK, I HAVE A MUCH BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONSEQUENCES- OR SHOULD I SAY LACK OF CONSEQUENCES- I WILL SUFFER IN THE EVENT I GET SO VERY ANGRY AFTER THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME CHOOSES NOT MOVE THE F OUTTA MY WAY WHEN I FLASH MY LIGHTS AT THEM AND I DECIDE TO BUMP INTO THAT PERSONS VEHICLE CAUSING ANOTHER HUMAN BEINGS' DEATH JUST BECAUSE I AM MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY OTHER PERSON SHARING THE ROADS OF DOHA...............

please.....someone open my eyes to this insanity

People don't seem to understand how dangerous a car is and how much responsibility goes along with driving. Not only that they don't seem to understand how fragile human life is and how easily it can be taken. Until the authorities really take a stand and make harsher punishments the Hamad Green Hornet as I call it will be busy every day picking up maimed bodies from car accidents. I wish they would publish just how many accidents here are from teenagers in cars that are too powerful, without drivers licenses. Not only that women should not drive with their face covered they don't allow it in Kuwait and the mans ghutra has to be back so he has periphihal vision. I wish we could have a more active police force. If you lose a limb here everyone gets the same amount they have calculations for whatever you lose. I also think the judges we have here are awful as well.

I felt so sorry for deceased family. I pray to GOD to give them the courage to move on with there life after such a big loss.

I wish every one who read this post and the newspaper gets a lesson to drive more carefully and safely on road. One should always keep in mind the safety of others on the road also.

Peace.

well, it could have been extended. If the family of the deceased (An American) demanded blood money. Apparently they didn't
