VODAFONE's age discrimination

Hi all
did anyone know that vodafone is only hiring people
who are not more that 26 year old for customer services sales and call center agents they don't want older than 26..so if you're more than 26,your old and not productive in the eyes of vodafone...this is Age Discrimination.,,,do you think that vodafone's age policy is fair?I call all those who are older than 26 to fight for their right to work anywhere as long as they are fit and Experienced. If this age discrimination starts that means that it will never end, and if the international companies coming to Qatar will do the same discrimination, finding a job in Qatar will never be a dream come true.

Amoud, the ugly ones are in coach - the 5* ones are in business + 1st ;o)

Did you Google it first?

I used Qatar Airways as a blatant example. I interviewed with them back in the day, and full body shots and such are required, and it was also required to be under the age of 25. The age may be a starting age and I am sure people go over this during their work period.

My husband has also commented that most of them are ugly but I tell you I wouldnt mind being as ugly as some of them :) You can also factor in that Qatar Airways is trying to get as many nationailities as possible to be able to boast their multi-lingual service. All you have to do is check with their HR department, they are very forward with such info.

I'm not really sure what's the rationale on having the age limit at 26 (too young).. same goes in the philippines, they require CSRs not older than 27...

I know someone in QA and she is 28 but I do agree that QA is usually not hiring above 30 as flight attandents.

Every company has its own HR policies. May be the Vodaphone want to try there new policy here. Good Luck to Vodaphone.

Peace.

this for call center agents and customer services and telesales inside the call center... does anyone care how old is the call center agent as long as you get the right information and your call is not just waste of time

you are better off working with a company that appreciates people for who they are and what they can achieve and have achieved.

good luck!

All you have to do is look at Qatar Airways... have you ever seen a flight attendant over 26 there? Not likely as you have to send full body shots to even apply for a position in QA.

Everyone got on before Voda, I am sure we will after :) You can look at it this way, these positions require youth and beauty only, really a no brainer.
