I think their is a govt. run orphanage I have talked to the women that runs it but they do not allow for volunteers, I was surprised as I have been here for 15 years so its not like I would not be a familiar face. Guess they are not organized enough for volunteers, I didn't understand their philosphy.
Well.. I did enquire to volunteer myself…..the answer I got was not very welcoming..
They dont have a Govt run orphanage..Qatar Charity do provide sponsorships for poor children..you can sponsor them...but they are living with their parents/mother. They are sponsoring orphanages in 20 countries..you can donate money through Qatar Charity.
The 1st question they asked was - am I a Muslim?
2nd Question was - Do I speak Arabic
If yes, then you can help them in the volunteer program during Ramadan for distributing food, money etc..
I heard there is a private orphanage run by some philanthropists…but I don’t have the details.
