One year/ two years ?
By naughtynoo •
Hello all
I need a bit of advice, I have been offered a two year contract starting this Summer. I do not want to be in Doha for two years.
Should I accept the contract and then try to escape, year 2 this is what I am worried about.I have heard stories about 'not being able to 'escape '
Or should I ask them to change it to one year ? Or will this hinder my chance of keeping this job ?
This job is in education.
Please help
Thanks
just take the right step and do not hesitate to talk to your employer for new conditions or negotiate with them.
On the other hand if you are given the chance to be hired for two yrs why would you take it and then by year 1 you'll escape, then I believe there is no sense for you to come over.
Just stay where you are right now.
Regards!!
Don't start a job on the wrong foot. Tell your employer that you want a one year contract to begin with. They may even appreciate it. Don't sign what you know you can't live up to.

usually its 2 years if you come outside of Doha. but in some cases like the Engineers, your employer will give you 21 days vacation free. depends on the company too, they can give you 1 month of vacation. then you can decide if you want to come back or not.
Some people come here as visit visa then look for a job directly. if thats the case, you can come home every 6 months or 1 year.
What are you applying for anyway?
If you want to escape, why do you want to come here??My advice to you is, accept the contract, come to Qatar, make a bright future, make ur career.....or stay at home.
