Octuplets mum already has six children !

Do we switch from saying "Awwwwwwwwwwwww" to "Ewooooooooo" ?

OCTUPLETS mum Nadya Suleman has revealed she always “dreamed of having a large family” because she was an ONLY CHILD.

The 33-year-old divorcee — who already had SIX kids — said she had “found herself” through having children.

And she claimed her 14 kids — all fathered by a sperm donor friend after she broke up with her hubby — gave her a “feeling of self and identity”.

Nadya told US TV host Ann Curry: “It was always a dream of mine to have a huge family

But her exhausted mum Angela Suleman, 69, who has been looking after the six older children while Nadya, gave birth, said: “This can’t go on any longer.

“She’s got six kids and no husband. Now octuplets.

“Dear God. She’s very good with kids, but obviously she overdid herself.”

Angela told how her daughter tried to get pregnant while still a teenager because of her “obsession” with babies.

But “luckily, she couldn’t” because her Fallopian tubes were “plugged up”.

Nadya, from Los Angeles, turned to a sperm donor — believed to be pal David Solomon — in 2001.

Then she said: “I kept going.”

i feel really sorry for the babies and the grand mother. they are put in a situation that is not of their own making. i do hope a trust fund will be set up for the kids. as for the mom, she should see a shrink.

on the Welfare system that used to have so many children just because the government PAID you more for each child...lovely reason to have more children, right???

The doctor who did this was totally irresponsible...I will withhold my personal opinon of this woman because I'd probably say too much and get banned..

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

That is what mom is banking on...society's soft spot for the children. It works every time. ;)

My first reaction that article was "Good". But then you've got to feel sorry for the kids.

There is just something "warm and fuzzy" about having a litter of kids.

Whatever.

She'll get money and baby stuff from somewhere I'm sure. It's america after all, and they love their freak stories.

I heard there's no intentions of sponsoring her now though. And apprantely her family filed for bankruptcy only a year ago.

She "expected" to receive sponorship from others and she'll get it. This is common practice in the US. Pampers and Gerbers among others will donate a year's supply of baby stuff.

She's appeared on morning shows in the US and "milking" this for what's it's worth.

She's a wacko and others are reinforcing her wacko-ness!

I'm looking for the article now, but I read that she expected to receive sponsorship from her town and major corporations.

Here it is. According to a bbc news article;

The California Medical Board has begun an investigation into whether there was a "violation of the standard of care" in the case.

The American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) recommends that women of Ms Suleman's age have no more than two embryos implanted.

Well there's an investigation into some aspect of it. Perhaps it's against the regulations to give IVF to someone who already has any kids, let alone six of them? Or to have that many embryos implanted. I'll see if I can find it.

Perhaps the doctor who inseminated this unstable woman can support this family of 14!

This doctor and his patient are out of their minds!

I believe I read where she wants to have her own t.v. program about parenting.

It's not against the regulations in the U.S.

Unlike Australia and the U.K., where IVF is very sensibly regulated, the U.S. puts no such restrictions on doctors. The result is "litters" to which this nitwit gave birth.

I do hope that the U.S. bioethicists (sp?) push for a limit of embryos that can be put into the womb in one go. It's simply not fair for the babies, the taxpayers. . .or, for that matter, to the parents who are told that putting in that many embryos "increases the chance of getting pregnant".

Agree it's unethical, and I believe it's also against regulations and is currently being investigated.

Probably she visited the 'infertility museum' during the 'free hours'.

i imagine having 14 kids and no husband and i wanted to have a cardiac arrest right here, right now. i think she should have her head checked. no sane woman, and i mean no sane woman would have that many kids even if they did liked kids. even i suspect angelina jolie's motives for having lots of kids.

one should not use one's children so one can find onesself. how pitiful the kids are that they have mothers who are still finding themselves through them. what if they will never find themselves at all? scary and the height of irresponsibility.
