IT'S A 40"; SERIES 5 SAMSUNG HD TV
ITS GROSS WEIGHTS IS AROUND 32 KGS
THE CARTON SIZE IS 120 X 80 x 32CM
AMOUNT IS QAR 4,375.
DO I NEED TO PAY ANY CUSTOMS TAX?
I'M AN OFW! OFW'S ARE TAX EXEMPTED ISN'T IT?
i think there's limit for bringing tv from phils.up to 29" only allowable and if it's above 29" you pay the custom tax.
Yes, you should pay the tax upon arriving at the Philippine Airport -Custom Counter.
As far as i know any item that the size is more than 3 feet in high there is already a corresponding tax fee.
I suggest if you want to bring your LCD into the Philippines, just settle it through Ship cargo (sea freight).. you just instruct the people in shipping co. to put in a crate your LCD to assure its safeness.
No you won't pay taxes. 2 colleagues brought home similar item, though smaller. No worry.
You can use sea cargo in order to avoid paying the 400 QR tax for air cargo not including the frieght charges. You can call Doods of Al Delta with mobile no. 546-5103 but it will take a longer time to at least minimun of 45 days. Even CRT TV will be tax with air cargo. the sea cargo charge will be QR 850 per cu. meter. + QR 50 bill of laden, + QR 1 per KM outside Metro Manila.
Regards
yes ! u have to pay duty unless it is more than 5 years old. Custom duty & Tax are entirely different things.
Good luck
