have your ID card ready + NOC letter + eye test result certificate (available at Pearle Optics for 30 QR)and your french DL and go to the Traffic Dept, will not take more than 10 minuts..
250 QR is the fee, only payment with CREDIT CARDS OR ATM CARDS are granted.
What kind of visa are you in Qatar now? if on visit you can get a temp license from Madinat Khalifa Traffic dept, if on employment visa: once your RP stamping process is over you can get a permanent license from the same dept. You need to fill an application form available in typing centers and might require an NOC letter from your sponsor (read recently that now its not required, not sure) you has to do an eye test.
You can get a Qatari license without test. However, you cannot drive on the Freance license, unless you are on a visit visa and have the license registered with the traffic department.
