Good day everyone! I am just a newbie at this forum (just clicked my membership an hour ago, but reading through your interactive comments three days now). I am a Filipino electrical engineer, now working in New Zealand for almost a year now as a technical personnel on one of the British operated manufacturing plant. I got a job offer from KAHRAMAA to join their engineering team, the benefits stated is indeed distinct and luring, (btw i was classified by the Qatar Labor as Grade 9, i am not sure what level is that). The offered salary package even gone way beyond what i am being paid here in NZ in terms of USD. Am sorry that I wont speak much of the numbers with regards to the offer coz it doesn't at all represent the real concern of my inquiry. I was able to go through the company's website and i believe that they quite a huge organization in terms of assets and professional staff but wasn't able to read much regarding benefits and career growth. Maybe, I just need a general idea as what to KAHRAMAA employees (particularly asians) are enjoying above other companies in Qatar. Does the management treats Asians fairly amongst other nationals like Americans, Europeans, Qataris etc., relatively here in NZ, discrimination is a crime. I still have weeks to decide with the offer. Thanks a lot and regards to all.

hi zombie33! thank you so much for your reaction.. you said you are working as a consultant with "THEM". Do you mean Kahramaa? Your advice to visit the City of Doha and meet the people there was indeed brilliant and smart to answer some of my concerns but because of my rigid schedule, perhaps i cant easily do that, though i will try... I guess you had been there for quite some time now and i believe we belong to different race based on your profile. If your doing consultancy role with the company, are you seeing happy faces on the majority of its employees considering holistically the social and material benefits being offered to them. Don't you worry, your point of view will just be a guiding idea for me to decide but my decision will be justified deliberately by myself considering all the factors ahead.. Thanks a lot and regards. Good day!

Moved recently from North America.I would like you to visit Doha first meet the people and then make any sort of decision. Believe me, this is very important. Dont look at 40-50/month, look at the city, its people and most importantly the organization. I work as a consultant and deal with them regularly.

Normally in Qatar as a multicultural community discrimination is very less. You can hope the same with Kaharmaa as many Asians are working there.

I heard kaharama is good employer in all aspects.

Warm welcome to qatar
