Can I drive to UAE visa KSA on my Qatar GCC visa?

Can I use my GCC residency visa from Qatar to drive through Saudi Arabia on my way to the UAE (would probably take, what, three hours in transit through KSA)? I thought it may be fun to take a road trip in winter time to Abu Dhabi next year... :D Last time I went to Saudi Arabia I required a stringent work visa but unfortunately the visa has since expired. I am a German citizen otherwise.

You need to apply for a transit visa from the Saudi embassy, without which you cannot travel through Saudi. You need to go through an agent - try 4691161 - I have used these guys lots of times and they are good.
