Living in Qatar
I am being recruited by UDC for the(Facilities Engineer) Pearl Project and will be in Qatar in the next few weeks for the final face to face interview. The recruiter representing UDC provided the following compensation package:
A) Basic Salary: QR 15,000 – 18,000
B) Company provided accommodation: Fully furnished Company provided accommodation including payment of utility bills (Electricity & Water).
C) Transportation Allowance: QR. 2,000/- per month
D) Education Allowance: Reimbursement of fees for education of dependent children between age 4-18 years in Doha, and not to exceed a maximum limit of QR.30,000 per child per year.
E) Annual Leave: 25 Working days per continuous year annual leave (Friday and Saturday being the weekend)
F) Tickets: Economy Class tickets + Wife + Dependent Children under 18 years old on commencement of service, on annual leave and also on contract completion to the country of origin
G) End of service Benefits: 3 weeks basic salary for each continuous year of service.
H) Private Medical Insurance for you and your family in Doha (children under 18 years old
Using the max salary offered this is approx $66,000 USD. Is this a good package for Qatar?

please be advised that tuition at American School is double of what they are offering you. Common way to figure out if the offer is good is--is it double what you are making in the US (or triple?) otherwise it is not worth coming.
How about your experience, what kind of experience do you have ??
UDC is a very big company hear and in-charge of The Pearl project it could easily give you and your family visa, its also a good offer already but if you could squeeze a little more all the better. Good luck
