I know, it's crazy, but I needed something for tonight, as the lady will be living with us from today, which was very unexpected, as my employer decided to send her to us yesterday. And I only found out today that there is such a thing souq furniture...

OMG 2100 for the Maids room..I remember getting all the maids room furniture from there for under QR1000 that include the wardrobe bed and a small dresser/drawer

Thanks, guys. I have spent 2100 for the bed for the maid's room, really need to spend less for a wardrobe. Furniture is really expensive here for the quality you get.

pticica.. No they don't deliver but there are so many delivery guys roaming around there. You can get someone to deliver for QR50 for the small pick up and QR100 for the big pickup.

Yup they will, might charge extra for the delivery !

If you buy furniture at Najma souq, will they deliver?

New furniture of medium quality is cheap as old furniture. My suggestion is to buy new furniture.

Do you know why in old furniture may be having bed bucks,to be safer side buy new furniture. Go to Asmakh Road you will find all your necessary furnitures.

Sam,

Al waseet as far as I know is a newspaper. I used to see one in Dubai and Its a freebie that they throw in to your apartment's door. Advertising charges is something I am not sure but its better be for free.

You can start advertising here at QL and you will receive a random call from interested people.

The ice skating shoes is pretty tough, but there might be some interested.

Or ebay that!

Happy,

Yeah, I have heard of the same amount of deal and the car that they are offering me is the one that stumbles over at the highway considering the driving condition here in Qatar.

Do you know which is the best company that offers the best deal in town.

Thank you,

Ollie

Last I heard, it was about USD450 a month. Don't totally count on my input here, but it's surely no less than USD 400 a month

Happy,

Its a fabulous idea but what I am really worried about is that when the time I get off Qatar forever and it takes alot of process to kick the loan deal off.

Can you quote me an amount on how much will I spend on a rent a car

By Happy Happy• 3 Apr 2009 18:37
Happy Happy

You can rent a car, temporarily. For long term plans, you can invest the same amount of money to buy your own new car, it's even cheaper.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks Happy,

The Karwa is pretty crazy here. I went nuts when I knew you have to call ages before you wanna get a hitch ride from a cab.

I will try and go there too but so far I am getting good hook ups here at QL classifieds.

Thanks!

OMG!!!

I am so happy coz I just found a good hook up!!! and its all becoz you thought me how to do it....

Apart from the furniture, I am looking for a good hook up on cars...I am so torn between renting a car or getting a bank loan to buy a car. I know there are tons of cars for sale but I dont know what option should I just go to.

Thanks a million!

First click on Classifieds (top left of this page)

You'll see:

Cars (look to the right) you'll see-----For Sale

You'll see a list of items: a refrigerator, etc.

Right under the list of items and ABOVE JOBS click on

MORE---you will find pages and pages of things listed for sale-- a lot of furniture. ;)

You can call Karwa, one day ahead of your trip to Najma. Let them know the pick up and drop off point, that's if you want to get a taxi. Then call them back for confirmation, an hour ahead of your errand.

If you like some pieces at Haraj, I think they have their trucks to load your stuff. I am not sure if this is a free service, or on your request, which means you'll have to pay for.

Happy,

Thank you for your reply. I have asked a friend for the direction and it is located at Najma ( if you are interested to go ) but the problem is I have to go there at around 7am so that I can get the best hook up and I am living at Burger king Roundabout which is a lil far off that place. And I am about to get my car next week so need to hail a cab which is another dilemna.

Thank you very much for that kind response.

Souk Haraj sells used furniture. I don't know where it is. But I hear it is full of used furniture. I am not aware of the quality though.

Also, Alwaseet has ads about exparts leaving and wanting to sell their furniture.

You can find some good quality used furniture here, on QL! Go to the classified section to find the listing of furniture people are trying to sell.

I bought some great cabinets at a very reasonable price.

People (expats) leave everyday here and need to sell their goods.
