i know car loans have been discussed to death, but not sure about the following.

i have been working in Qatar for 2 years, my wife just started a job. i need a car loan in her name, and since she has just started working i will need to guarantee her loan.

QNB will only do this if the guarantor is a different nationality - not sure why.

Al Kaleeji will do it but they want a downpayment - if i got the loan in my name no downpayment would be required so i don't know why one is needed if i am a guarantor.

we have no other loans.

any other banks out there who accept guarantors?
