Documentary brought tears to my eyes!

This morning I watched a documentary about a severely injured soldier and his rehabilitation.

A young man went to fight for his country and came back broken - both mentaly and physically.

The tears were not so much for the young man, but for his brave mother who had to see her son in this way and the bravery and fortitude she showed in trying to help him lead a normal life..

All mothers are No 1 in my book .

Actually, this was the other thing that came out in the documentary.

The comeraderie and the fact that the soldier felt so close to a coleague who had fallen in battle whilst trying to save his life.

Its not an easy thing for an ordinary person to comprehend..

for yer mates. They were the guys who had yer back. The whole queen and country thing is a crock of crap.Neither the queen or the country care if some 18 year old squaddie gets his head blown off halfway round the world, so long as they can enjoy their own freedoms and lives........

True... like calling for Jihad and what not.

Religion will always play a key role in wars, even though it is not the focus of the war

Samuel.. But certain armies in the world use the Religion thing to promote and provoke reaction from the soldiers..

Well it's different in the british military because we had alot of different recognised religions, so we couldn't exactly say the whole died for god thing. It has always been queen and country (for whatever reason).

Personally i think a good soldier just goes to do the job he is ordered to do, regardless of side. They know the risk. You need to shut off beliefs if you want to survive, that goes for political aswell as spiritual.

It amazing how the western solidier see call of duty comapared to say Asians and espcially one from the Muslim countries..

When fellow country men falls in preforming the call of duty.. We say that he gave up his lfe for his country and so..

However if the same happens to a muslim soldier.. They would say he died for God..

hmmm

No it was an American, but at the time I thought that the same situation is occurring for British soldiers who have been injured on duty, and their loved ones must be going through the same anguish and trauma..

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.

I saw a brave Parents and children of a martyr (Pakistani FC Personal) the other day on TV which bring tears to my eyes. The mother was expressing her pride for the bravery and martyrdom of the brave soldier.
