Why should the innocent party bear the brunt?????
Last night after the Moto GP- Qatar at Losail International Circuit, I was just waiting to share the excitement with my family. While Exiting the venue an ultra excited spectator banged my car from the rear.(I’m sure some of you must have seen this collision right outside the gates it was a Honda Accord hitting Honda Prelude). The cops took a good hour and a half to get to such a popular landmark in the country. After the site assessment we were asked to drive all the way to Al Khor police station (NB: I live in Doha) at around 12:30 am to obtain the report. This car is my mum’s car, damaged and cannot be driven unless repaired. Now, The only option being…Rent a Car or Taxi!!! for her to commute to her work place.
Today I went to the Qatar Insurance Company. And going thru’ the procedures have been referred to a garage in industrial estate street # 23.
Now the argument is…
1) Why should we the INNOCENT Party, do the running around trying to get the paper work done? ( my dad is forced to leave).
2) Is the insurance company going pay the compensations if we rent a car or commute by taxi until we get the car is out of garage ?
what is the proper justice ???????????????
Check your insurance policy, some have a clause that will pay for a rental while yours is in the shop. If not, then you're out of pocket.
The statement made my solidsnake is a rare situation. No one, not the person at fault for the accident nor the insurance company is obliged to compensate your for anything other than your damaged vehicle (unless there is some bodily injury caused).
Unfortunately that is how things are. My car got rammed by an SUV that was backing out of a parking space and the suv ended up with a hardly visible hairline scratch on the back bumper and I had to run around for 6-7 days to get the car done.
My friend had an accident 3 weeks ago and his car has to be kept on the garage for a couple of days. The guy who hit his car paid everything including his rent-a-car to compensate all the troubles he had those days.
