What to bring to Doha

Hi............ I've been advised to bring nothing other than underwear and socks. This goes against my grain as I love to pack, and I'd hate to leave anything behind...........can you advise me what I can not buy in Doha? For instance, I intend to bring Yorkshire tea-bags, and my much-used egg-poacher. I will be arriving last week of May................should I pack a few sheets?

My contract says the appt has "hard furnishings".

I am a single bloke, so toiletries are not an issue.

Will I be ok wearing long shorts at the airport? By long I mean knee-length, no socks, just deck-shoes...........is this ok?

Cheers,

Roy

Hi Roy

As you may have been told you can buy pretty much everything you need here but it can be expensive.

The big supermarkets sell everything you need to start up including bedding and kitchenware although you cant beat a few home comforts. (We have a big stash of Yorkshire Tea bags too).

Shopping is quite a familiar experience with BHS Marks and Spencers and Debenhams all available in Doha plus loads of other High street stores.

My advice would be bring a few things you cant live without and essentials for the first few days.

P.S

Long shorts are fine for the airport

If you haven't been to DOHA you better worn proper dress.

You can bring what every suite to you according to the rule here BUT you have to make sure not to exceed your laguage allowrance. If you have you have to pay bu your self. Better buy in here rather than paying excess fees.

Carrefour is available so I assume everything is here what you want.
