I am an expatriate and working in Qatari Stock holding Company. My wife is working with one of the ministry organisation. They are eligble for family HRA based on the fact that they have to confirm from the spouse's employer that they are not providing any HRA or hosuing to the spouse. When i asked for such a letter, my company HR department told me that such a letter is against to my labour contract and against to the states labour law. The expatriate workers are eligble for either sigle HRA or family status.So they provided me a letter mentioning he is receving only bachelor HRA. But such a letter is not acceptable for my wife's organisation to allow the family HRA. Because of these, they are not providing any HRA (bachelor or family)to my wife. So we were giving ones salary directly for the huge house rent which comes 12 times of my bachelor HRA.
I humbly request to all of you how we can take this matter to concerned authorities to find a solution for this. Also I wish to know the comments of those people having the same pathetic condition.

he cannot afford to lose a few thousand riyals, when it is a policy .
there are hundreds in Doha, withut proper job, but who are educated as good as you and your wife.

Change your attitude you are very demanding..even the way you asked your question you are very demanding in asking for response and suggestion.
i work in a govt. organization. while finalizing hra, the management advised all employees to give an undertaking whether their spouces work, and if working, whether they r getting hra. in my case, i just gave them an undertaking that my wife is working for a pvt firm and that she is not getting any hra. thats' it.
