Macbook charging?

I bought a Macbook from the states, but the charger has a different plug to go into the socket here in Qatar. Can I just plug in the Mac Rated for US power here in Qatar without blowing it up?

I don't know much about this... but mine has a british plug and in the States it actually worked, but I guess it was because it was the other way around. They sell only the charger, with the british plug, in any Virgin store, and there's a reseller I think in Salwa Road..

DO NOT plug it in just like that, or you might damage the charger and mac's battery!

Unless dual voltage, All appliances/electronics from the US need a power transformer and an adaptor to work in Qatar (and elsewhere) sockets. Visit Bashir electronics near the Dhow/Arab roundabout in order to buy those. And yes, it will blow out if you try it without.

jarhead, all appliances here in qatar work on 220-240 v. So be careful or otherwise you will actually blow/burn your macbook charger.

Please check the charger and be sure that it works in a range of 110-240 v then you are more than welcome to buy an adapter for the conector (get it in carrefour) and plug it into the electricity socket either at home or office, and "voila" there you go now it's charging.

But if your charger doesn't operate in this electricity range, then refer to major stores (Ispot, Virgin, Al mana Partners) to buy a charger working within the current electricity range here in qatar.

Regards!!
