Low waist but how low?

Ok, I am ‘just’ mother of a teenager (well, do you have any similar expression like ‘just married’?). And I am much concerned about his ever lowering pants.

When he was very young I used to tie his pants all over his chubby tummy. But with the time it started slipping down and down gradually. The time has arrived when he wears his jeans almost 4-6 inches down his belly button. And this is my biggest headache as of today!!!!

Many times I voiced my concern to him in many ways. But he says that this is the trend today. So I decided to take a look at his friends. When his friend came to our home I took a round around him in a way that it won’t look suspicious. When I was trying my best to take a look at his pants from behind, he said, “Aunty my mouth is on the other side.” So eventually the trick failed!!!!

Once I read news to my son from GT, that how an Australian teenager dropped his low waist pants accidentally in front of a Lady Cop, exposing his butts. My son just shrugged, pulled his jeans some more inches down and went off!!!

So, what do you think ? How low these pants should go?

“Leave and let live” has become my mantra nowadays!!!!

lol..

The theory behind this trend... I mean a Scientific reason for the same...

A handsome guy..ideally should have 1:1 ratio of height from head to waist n Waist to toes...

And generally the upper body is less in ht than the legs... hence to try to make it as much close to 1:1...

We have a unconscious desire to wear Low waist....

Those pants really look like somebody is wearing a kiddy diaper inside...lol

Everything's gonna be alright!!!

Having taught in a high school for 20 years, I've seen teen fashions come and go---this too shall pass.

As to your question about how low should they go?

If the kiddos can't run, if they had to run, for example, out of the way of traffic or someone trying to chase them..then they're too low! ;)

There was a guy wearing (and I use the term loosely (sic)) jeans in this style in the rugby club on Friday, till someone walked behind him and pulled them down. He quickly resorted to a more tradional way of wearing them.

My dad hates it when I wear the jeans i so called "Low waist style"...

It is low.. depends on reference line you have drawn....

For parents.. the navel line is reference..

Honestly wearing jeans till navel is something I can't imagine...

I prefer it resting couple of inches below navel...

Not to look cool.. but tht is how I feel comfortable...

Definitely not a cool thing to expose Butt Cleavage....

But one thing i have never understood till dates....

females wear low jeans/pants... n a short top... and whole day tussle not to let any one peep in the skin if exposed....

Either let people look at it.. or Don show it...

Why in double mind?????

Perhaps you need to feed him more and make him more chubby :p

Parents will never understand the "fashion" of younger generation. I never understood the whole checks shirt and bell bottoms with those big side burns. Not to mention the crazy dance with the head shaking.

Good Fortune always comes knocking at your door...when you are sh*tting in the toilet!! :)
