Can I have someone call a cab from the U.S. Embassy?

I know this sounds stupid. . .but. . .does anyone know if it is possible to call for a cab from U.S. Embassy?

My housemaid has a visa interview there tomorrow and the website for the embassy specifically states that she may *not* bring her mobile phone with her. . .and it's not like she can just walk out on the street to hail one. She could be there for anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours, so I won't be able to wait for her.

Anyone out there who knows for sure? Or should I just pay a driver wait for her?

Thanks,

ES

you can bring mobile, thy may keep it outside

it will not take 2 hours, max 1 hour

better you arrange a driver earlier. then you drop her. call the driver and tell to come to the spot after one hour, after he gets a call from the maid.

You are allowed to bring a mobile phone.

They just keep it at the entrance and she gets it back when she's leaving.

I was there a cpl of days ago so I can confirm that.

It would be best to ask a driver to wait for her.At times I normally avail for my trips the service of a guy called Nisar who is well mannered. His No.is +974 6625270.

Hope I could help, and jus to say no question is a silly question:)
