Do the lizards that come inside the homes bite?
Im relatively new to Doha one thing we did not have back home is lizards. Ive never been afraid of them until I saw how scared kids are of them, as if they were spiders or bees. Personally I think they are cute, although I got the chills after I found out how fast they move! I want to know if its safe to catch them because if I dont try, they will get killed by someone else! Do they bite? What is the best way to catch them and does anyone know why everyone here is scared of them? Does anyone know which species they are? Thanks!
My horrible cat eats them tail and all so I don't think they can be that poisonous. We catch them in an upturned wastepaper basket but a couple have lost their tails during the operation. Is there anything worse than being left holding a still twitching tail while the lizard runs under the bed???
No They don't bite. But there is a myth about their tail being poisioness.
lol they dont bite.
if they are just lizards, you can just "shoo" them so they would go away. but if they are the geckos, ewww.... careful, because they stick to the skin. i really hate lizards, but spraying my room with insecticide helps to keep them away.

but I heard it has got some sort of poison, which may not kill you,, but it makes skin allergy.
try offering them one of ur fingers!
Hi Dilly, Dont know what part of the States your from but it cant be Florida coz there are plenty of these little creatures there. They are called Geckos and as stated are harmless enough except a little trick they have to avoid being caught. they can detach their tails when attacked and leave it wriggling on the ground behind them. Quite a shock first time you try to catch one. Oh and they grow a new one back in a very short time.
Lizards are not attacking anything other than insects, mainly they are catching cockroaches and helping the human beings from its disturbance.
So, don't worry about it and don't harm them as there are some blind believes. Comparatively they are little bigger than our countries and mostly they appear at night time to quench their hunger!
they are harmless ... :)
Don't be afraid! They don't bite and are, in fact, quite useful for catching mosquitoes and other insects around the house. For some, it is considered bad luck to kill them. If you don't like them in the house, just try to catch them and put them in the garden.
