Driving from Dubai to Doha
Four of us want to drive to Doha for a day and then drive back to Dubai.
Ones a German citizen on a visit visa in Dubai, ones an American citizen also on a visit visa in Dubai. Third guys a Pakistani citizen who works as a senior manager for Etisalat (Dubais Qtel) in Dubai, and the fourth person is his wifer who is living in Dubai on his visa and is also a Pakistani citizen.
We would be driving the Etisalat employees car (registered under his name in the UAE).
Ready for the questions? Cool:
1. How does car insurance for Saudi Arabia and Qatar work out? Can we buy it at the respective borders and how much does it cost?
2. From what I found out, all four of us will get our Qatari visit visas stamped at the Saudi/Qatari border. Anybody how much the visa costs?
3. And most important question of them all: How does the transit visa for Saudi work out? Do we have to have them beforehand from the consulate/embassy in UAE or are they also stamped at the UAE/Saudi and the Qatari/Saudi border.
4. A rough estimate at how much the whole visa and car insurance would cost us would be great.
Thanks for the help :)
Thanks UK. You are right about EU/US citizens on a visit visa in the UAE not being able to get a transit visa for Saudi Arabia.
I went to the Saudi Consulate in Dubai this morning and a rude ass consulate asked me how I got to Dubai to which I responded by saying "I flew". So the f'ing #$#$ rudely responds by saying "Well fly to Doha".
A-hole!
I don't think a Pakistani would get a visa on arrival.
You cannot travel under Visit visa by car especially the transit bit through Saudi. If you can get the Transit visa from Saudi Embassy then it should be fine you will get visa on Arrival at Qatar, but for Saudi you need transit visa in advance and I beleive that on Visit visa for UAE it will not allowed, but you can check..
