El Firulete at The Ritz.

Last Wednesday I went to watch The Colombian Dance Show by El Firulete. The venue was at The Ritz Carlton Hotel.

El Firulete is a non profit dance school that is dedicated to the enjoyment of latino dancing. The nearest one from Qatar is in Dubai.

The place was packed, met few Qlers, Notfromhere and her daughter, Absolute Jaguar and another lady who works for the local magazine (can't remember her QL name).

Show suppose to start at 7pm. They opened the door at 7, then letting about 500 people in by that 1 door. It took quite sometimes, why they not opened more than 1 door to the ballroom to let people in I don't know. Then when we were finally inside the ballroom, there were some confusion of people trying to get the right seat based on their ticket number.

Finally the show started. The shows was mix of various dances from around the world. Not only latino dancing. There were jazz, tango, salsa and ballroom dancing.

Then we had an interlude, we served with some drinks and some appetizers.

Show finished at just before 10 pm. It was good enjoyable night. Looking forward more next dancing event in the future.

I was thinking about going, but I'm glad I didn't, 280QR for that is unbelievable. This is worse then a high school play. My wife and I try to get to see as much of the more cultural events as possible, but I have to say that the standard in general is just not worth the price of the tickets.
