Is it legal in Qatar to stick black tint film like V-cool to the car side window glasses and front and back glasses. Workshop says they can put the film which will avoid UV rays and sun radiation by 100% in sides and back, 10% in front. They say it is legal in Qatar.

Can anybody share their knowledge and expereience.

you can tint the back side glasses.. i didnt take permission for tintin them...when u go to qatar technical inspection and they see u have tinted the glases without permission, they will fail you in the legar requirements...but its no big deal...there will b a police sittin nearby who will cross it out and you are good to go...thats what i did last week at the technical inspection next to lulu hypermarket :)

The permission to tint windows is provided by Ministry of Transport, Driver and Vehicle Registration office at Madina Khalifa North.

The best option is to hire one of the facilitators who will type up the applicaiton for you and do the process for QR 25-30.

This will result in your Car Registration Card (Istiqaama) to be updated to include tinted windows.

However, the permission is limited to side windows only. Front and rear windows can not be tinted legally.
