Pilot Census starting in Qatar Tomorrow
Doha, June 02 (QNA) - Qatar Statistics Authority (QSA) starts tomorrow, Wednesday, a pilot census for families and individuals in Qatar, to conclude in June 10.
The pilot census will cover some 700 households located in four municipalities, namely Doha, Arrayan, Al Wakra and Umm Slal.
The enumerators involved in the census, have been enrolled in intensive training programmes and equipped with the latest technology tools that help the authority achieve effective results.
Some 30 enumerators will conduct the census, with official cards issued by the QSA and will collect data on family status, education, profession and population characteristics.
The QSA urged the nationals and residents to cooperate with its enumerators and facilitate their mission, assuring that the required data will be used only in statistics purposes, according to the privacy law on the individual data.
The recent data to be collected in the pilot census will help develop effective tools and methods for the forthcoming general population census in 2010. (QNA)
