way too much salt?

By shoeaddict

for the past few days i had the chance to accompany a friend and we had lunch in a couple of restaurants.
one thing that bothered me is that are they serving us way too much salty foods?
the chicken nuggets in restaurant 1-way too much salt that i had to send it back.
the chicken wings in restaurant 2- i asked the food server if the chef who prepared it tasted it cause i found it too salty.had to down a bottle of mineral water to relieve my toungue from too much saLT.
is it me or is it them?

_"Just checked his profile.

I do now understand his stupidity."

And what exactly is that supposed to mean? Please explain. I love it when people here on QL sink so low that they start personal attacks.

"Not all 'fat' people are idiots at all..................". No, not all, unless they are medically (physically or psychologically) predisposed to being fat (eg: Hypothyroidism comes to mind).

"if that were the case half of the Aribic states would be seen as idiots. I am sure you do not want that lable." ROFL! You said it..

Unethical food?? What's unethical is idiots with fat wallets consuming (not just food) way more than required without the slightest concern for the environment.

"I will sit here and wait for you to post:-)"

And, BTW sorry you had to wait so long for my reply. I don't hang around here (or any other web forum for that matter). I just check in from time to time, sometimes as rarely as once a month for anything useful. It's just by chance that I revisited this thread.

So don't bother waiting around for my replies. :-)

PCG replies to Weasel!

I noticed you did sit there and wait for the next reply and you answered it.

There is a problem with obesity over here, it can't be denied. This is all down to the consumption of fast food.

Weasel with your attack on me, first of all in an ironic way you backed up what I said but more to the point you made little sense.

See you next 'month' when you log on again.

To the poster, high salt in fast food places..............................NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, really?

most of us know that stress, genes, race, diet and lifestyle among others contribute to having high blood pressure (hepertension)

3 out of the 5 can be prevented.

living in Qatar = having a high BP is inevitable???

i dare say not...handle stress effectively, change lifestyle, stop being a couch potato and eat healthy...(hehe as if i do all these) believe me, it will make a difference...

a lot of us may think that our work is our form of exercise... check it out, yer kind of work might be categorized under SEDENTARY work...

unless you do manual work, that is.

***less time seated infront QL will help, unless you are on a treadmill while on QL*** best times!!!

thank you on your coment however,do you think that if you freeze food, bacteria would not thrive on it?

and if you cook it in a certain temperature, bacteria would die from it?

im sooo certain, heat and freezing kills bacteria, what im not certain of is if the frozen food has been salted before, why put salt again?

dont they read packet labels?duhhhhhhhh

Salt is a good preservative for all these frozen stuffs they serve ...

"Salt is considered antibacterial because it restricts bacterial growth in many foods. It preserves foods by lowering the amount of "free" water molecules in foods. Bacteria need moisture in order to thrive, so without enough "free" water, they cannot grow well in foods that contain salt. "

thats y the extra salt ... wut say shoeaddict

Vegas - You don't need to prove anything to me. Where exactly did I relate BP to obesity? I'm fit, and with a BMI of 21, but still have borderline hypertension. Under control without meds.

I suggest you go and research unethical food.

Go do the research, check out obesity in the Gulf.

Too much salt in chips too. Just watching those junk food joint employees douse chips with salt like they were trying to put out a fire sends my BP through the roof.

Alexa - "Complaining about the salt content of what they call food in those places is at best...a bit strange...non?"

Non madame, :-P I enjoy the occasional treat. Like I said on another thread, most things in excess will kill you. That goes for water too :-)

off course there is too much salt. It is shit food. Go to a real 'restaurant' and not a dive that serves unethical food that has caused wide spread obesity.
