with full insurance can i go to them instead of the other party who hits me?

i hav an accident a few days ago.. while driving on the highway from wakrah to messaieed one pickup overtook me and because i hav my baby in my car, i decided to slow down.. I saw some materials in the back of the pick up that hav a possibility of flying away (theres a lot of winds during that day).. and before i know it one piece of wood came flying towards us and hit our car in the engine hood.. a few more inches and it would have been my windshield on the side of my wife that hav been sleeping during that time.. i thought the pick up would run off but by the grace of God it stopped.. we go to police and he talks in arabic.. then the police ask me atm card to pay, i thought i will pay for the police report because i didn't saw the person giving any card.. but it is only for the papers (20 qr).. then the man go.. this is my first so i don't know what to do next.. the police told me to go to insurance and kalas! because i'm still in shock during that time we immediately go home and comport my scared wife and mother in law.. but may i know coz i hav a full insurance (QIC) may i go to them instead of going to the insurance of the other party... thanks...
