Elections in Lebanon!

Whilst we worry about body odor and driving, something critical is taking place in the region - The Lebanese are going to the polls.

From what the Western press is saying, the simple coice is between a Western-backed coalition against a Hezbollah-led bloc.

A tight race is predicted between the US-backed 14 March alliance, which has a small majority in parliament, and its rivals, supported by Syria and Iran.

Lebanon's Christian community is split between the two camps.

Analysts say the result could depend on which Christian politicians are elected in a few key constituencies.

Israel has already stated that it would regard a win for Hezbollah as a clear setback for the region.

Would love to hear what the Lebanese have to say on the issue. Who will you or your friends / families vote for ?

Is it as Black and white as portrayed ?

It all depends on what the Lebanese people want. Hezbollah is portrayed as an obstacle to future peace. They also have close links to Syria and Iran.
