hi...i have just moved to qatar and would like to sponsor my mom. She is 70 yrs of age and is completely dependent on me. Can anyone advise on how to go about it??

Dude, sorry to say its quite hard for the age of 70, if she is around 62-63, there might be a chance if your sponsor is strong enough, well try your luck but not in Madina Khalifa, try at Al-Khor passport office, they really very helpful...All the best.

In normal case Qatar law does not allow to sponsor your mother. Even for visit visa they will not issue for the people above 60 years of age.

But,

If you have anyone who can help you may get visa for your mother. The concerned authority may use their discretion to issue visas in such cases. Normally for 6 months visit visa will be given using this discretion power by the concerned officer, if you are able to make him understand the situation.
