Qatar GPS Maps?????
Since I am very new to Qatar, I thought it would be smart to buy a GPS to help me travel around the city... After I go to the carrefore and buy a new GPS i hook it up to find out it only came with Europe maps... what good is that here?
And when I return to Carrefore and ask for a map of DOHA they tell me they do not sell those..
Does anyone know where to buy a map of Doha for my GPS?
I know I see them in a lot of peoples cars...

How can we contact to for installation of the nothern america maps, and middle east maps on our garmin. Let us know.

The maps you can buy from Souq Jabor are from 2007... how good is that going to do you here with all the road construction?

I also have the 2009 maps for Americas, europe and different parts of asia.
Thats the price you pay for using Garmin....its software are all patented.....only the basemap is free....which is almost good for nothing.
You can buy from a Garmin Shop the MMC card containing Garmin Maps for Middle east (and Asia combined I think).
I dont understand why one would pay only for a GPSand then pay for software...which will be seldom used ....instead of a GPS phone like N95/97, Samsung Omnia where you can install any GPS software like Garmin mobile XT, Google mobile maps.
On N95 the Nokia Maps are free....except for route tracking (which would only be "most necessary" in a desert).
These phones also come with high end camera, video camera, wi-fi enabled, touchscreen etc.
I got crack map and i have downloaded and its working fine, free....
Garmin shop in Souq Jabor has those middle east versions... you should check with them.
east maps were already loaded on to it.
Yer best try googling GPS shops in dohell and see if it helps ya.

On the GARMIN website it says something called City navigator NT 2009? Is that the most up to date one? Is there somewhere in doha to buy that? Also online the price was 199USD... thats almost as much as the GPS i bought.. What is with these people...
It covers the whole of the GCC.
When I bought one here in Bahrain, it was already loaded on.
