Hi can anyone tell me if an Australian guy can marry a Filipino girl in Qatar and if so how do I go about it?? I am moving over in August and my partner is in Abu Dhabi at the moment we have been together for over 3 years now and want to get married. We want to get married in Qatar and then she can move from Abu Dhabi to Qatar to live with me... Can this be done??

So Hussla77 should ask brit_qatar in private contact how was their process going. Where and who to approach and how to do it including Vist VISA.

Hello

I got married here some time ago.. I was not under Sponsorship of any company at the time as I had left my old employer, flew out then came back after vacation,

I was on a Visit Visa and I got married here.. recieved my Marraige certificate in English & Arabic 3 days after... stamped by the relevant authorities.

We did however have to have 3 Interviews with Father Bill (who married us)... which is pretty normal in church, just google ''epiphany qatar'' and his site and details will come up.

Thanks so much guys for your replys i really appreciate it... We were actually organised to get married in sept in Abu Dhabi in the catholic church but i ended up taking a job offer in Qatar instead. I just thought it would of been easier to get married there but sounds like it would be best in Abu Dhabi still... It will take me around 4 weeks to get Residency then i can bring her over to Qatar to live with me is that correct???

to enter Qatar she has to get a Visa first. it is not always easy for Filipinas. Then you guys cannot get marry right away, because neither of you is Resident in Qatar. Then even when you will get your Residency ( at leastcouple of months), I am not sure what about her, whether she also have to be a qatari resident or not...

Why wouldn't you marry in Abu Dhabi or Dubai - wherever the Philippins embassy is.I think you have to do it through the embassy. And she will need all kind of papers that she is free to marry.. looks complicated...

be done if both are residents. It would be best to get married either in Philippines or Australia - much easier than trying to get her a visa into Qatar before your marriage.

If it's difficult, why not go to Dubai, get married and then move over here after?

I know it is easy to get married in Dubai, and after getting your residence here (within two to three weeks), you can apply for a visit visa for her or for a resident visa (takes longer) and bring her over as your wife...

I am saying this, because I don't know how you are getting to get her to come to Qatar without any kind of Visa at all.

I don't know exactly but what I can say is

* Married with her in Philippine before you come here or

Married in Singapore to make sure you are married when you applied for RP in here upon arrival.

Than you are leagally married and she can join with you when you got your RP within 4 weeks of your arrival.

This is the best way for you to do.

Ask me more question if you want to know more.
