Shipping hassles!
Shipping Costs at Doha Port
My wife and I are due to move to Qatar in August and are arranging shipping of our belongings. We are using a company called London Baggage Company (Division of Excess International Movers).
Anyway, they have said that the price they charge will not include things like: ALL destination
charges, which may include Duty, Customs
Clearance/Inspection, Terminal Fees, Airline Charges,
Agency Fees, Local Delivery, Wharfage Charges, and
Quarantine and Agriculture fees (where applicable).
We are only shipping over things like clothes, shoes, bags, ornaments, books, DVDs and a couple of guitars.
Will we have to pay any fees for these items.
Also, I assume that Doha customs will check throough our stuff. Will DVDs such as The Sopranos get through?
Sorry if this is all basic stuff, but this is my first post!
Regards
Jason
UK
We shipped about 30 boxes from the UK in January, mostly DVD's, Music PS2 games, kids toys etc. Cost at this end was approx $530 including all customs clearance, fees etc. All the boxes had been opened but everything arrived safely about 3/4 days after arriving in Doha Port. We used Aero Freight Co Ltd,Post Box No: 8681,Doha Qatar Tel: +974 4431678, Binoy Abraham who was excellent.
