Why is it that THE PEARL QATAR is not mentioned in the areas where buyers can transfer their sponsorship?

Five expats owners of properties

The official said that the owners of property, if employed, can transfer their sponsorship with the consent of the current sponsor.....

The areas where expatriates can buy property are:

Musheirib, Freej Abdul Aziz, Doha Jadeed, Ghanim Al-Atiq, Al-Riffa, Al-Hitmi Al-Atiq, Salata, Bin Mehmood, Rawdat Al-Khail, Al-Mansoura, Bin Dirham, Najma, Umm Ghwailina, Al-Khulaifat, Al-Sadd, Al-Mirqab Jadeed, Al-Nasr, area around Doha International Airport, Al-Qisar, Al-Dafna, Onaiza and Lusail, Al-Khiraij, Jabl Thuailab.
Only properties in Al-Sadd and Najma area are available so far, “as the process of classifications have been concluded in these two areas only.”...

The Pearl falls under Doha Jadeed which means New Doha.

Those who regard The Pearl as one project obviously don't know what they are talking about.

The Pearl is the location but there are MANY different projects by different contractors. That's like saying, Don't invest in New York.

WORD OF WARNING: STAY AWAY AND DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING AT THE PEARL . YOU WILL ONLY MAKE YOURSELF VULNERABLE TO THE EXTORTIONATE AND INSANE SERVICE PRICES UDC IS LEVYING ON THE ALL WHO LIVE THERE. IT WILL BE A CASH SINK AND NIGHTMARE FOR ANYONE WHO OWNS. DO YOUR HOMEWORKK AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELVES.

Thanks eternity and Speed for your replies.

alain, I think that is a very good question. I hope someone could give more info about it.

I am pretty sure you will get the PR as soon as you get the keys of the apartment.

If someone who is living already in one of the apartments could provide some info, that would be great.

Thanks.

Qatar is the LAST place on earth where I would buy a house.

What if you mortgaged the property from a bank? Do you have to pay it in full first to have PR?

well i guess that leasehold does not give you complete ownership of property (99 year lease only, which is the case with the properties you have mentioned above from the article) whereas freehold means you have a 100% ownership of property and is yours to do whatever you want with it!

Could you please tell me what is the essential difference between FREEHOLD and LEASEHOLD?.

Thanks in advance.

thats because the pearl is freehold + not on mainland(ie its been reclaimed) so it comes in a different category altogether..... the article is only referring to properties on the mainland...

Hehe - you'll still need an NOC to transfer your sponsorship from your current sponsor to your property:

"The official said that the owners of property, if employed, can transfer their sponsorship with the consent of the current sponsor."

So, what if you pay 1,400,000QAR for your property, but don't get an NOC?

I was wondering the same thing - a friend of mine , an Algerian said many of her friends (Algerians ) had bought property in the Pearl already.
