new laptop but linux installed

Please help..I got a laptop as a gift but linux inside.Dont know how start with,any body can tell how to start with .

Try to logon as "root". And then press "Enter". Wait if a Graphic User Interface comes up (KDE for example). If not you need to use UNIX commands to start the computer. If you don't know them, install a Windows operating system. The Laptop will give you a hard time, though, to get rid of Linux.

If its dell,then i have the same experience. However, i got vista cd with it as welll . and it gave it back to the shop from where i purchased it. The shopremoved linux and installed vista in the laptop
