FILIPINO VS FILIPINO (FILEX )

I am a Filipino working here in Qatar for almost 3 months..Our relationship with my BOSS is very GOOD..The only problem I am suffering right now is my co-worker which is a Filipino also..I tried to deal with them as long as I can, but it come to the point that I can no longer deal on everything they want..I dont want to be a HYPOCRATE in dealing with them..now seems that they sENSE that I am keeping a distance in them.

Well to be clear enough, I work as an executive coordinator,it is my duties to control everything in THE work place.. I tried to be fair enough to my BOSS and same as with my Co worker w/c are all FILIPINOS..every now and then I report all to my Arab boss, my co worker tried to convienced me that NOT ALL must be reported to top specially the work errors "PALPAK". In short that want me to cover up their mistakes. I tried to do before but I dont want to do it always since obviously unfair to my BOSS or even to any employee you work with.

ANYBODY CAN GIVE ME A SINCERE ADVISE? thANKS in ADVNACE..

Ask yourself this. Who is paying you? Your boss or your co workers? Be fair and honest. Fulfill your duties professionally. In the end you must insure your own security. If you lose your job will the people you cover for support you?

or shall we say in a "good" position, we use our position to help the betterment of our fellow "kabayans". Small things can be cover-up without making negative effects to your "boss" or to the company. But if the mistakes is already affecting the work or the company negatively and substantially, talk wit your subordinates first or co-employees. Give warning as you are in the position as you say. If they don't heed in the warning, then you can report it to the management with the intent to remedy the situation and not to dismiss erring employees. MAke your reasoning justified and constructive in nature so you won't feel any regret. If they see the positive wisdom in your reporting to the top management, who knows?, maybe it will result to a positive change (for betterment).

you know a lot of us are having that kind of situation. we don't know what are the things we need to prioritize like in your situation. you are in between of choosing who will u consider first but as what you have discussed you should tell exactly what's happening with your boss the more you will be honest the more you will gain trust. not all people are well given enough of trust. and for your co-workers you need to let them understand that you are just doing what is right and what is fair to everybody.

WatdaPak!

mga taong ganyan dapat ibiting patiwarik sa flare ng ras laffan. Anyhow its their problem not yours. As long as you're on the right track with right intention and conscience then go. you have to enjoy ur job regardless!

SMILE ka lang bro try not to let them affect you...

Im proud to be Filipino

never cover up for them, especially if you know that what they're doing is wrong... you should know better than that, so what if they're our kabayans, if they do something wrong in the workplace, it will also affect you.. you have a responsibility to the company and it should come first and foremost, not covering up some ass..

if you feel and believed that your doing it right, then continue, regardless if its your "kabayan" or not.

as for me i trust in "HIM" for guidance and wisdom all the time.

it happened to me 1st 2 months of my job here and still have the culture shock then, i was glad there is one filipina that i thought she could help me with my predicament and all, its so happened & i found out later on she is jealous of me professionally and wants me in the eye of every boss there that i dont know my work, i even ask her to some files which the boss wants me to look at and when i asked for her help since she is the one filing it, she only says just look around somewhere and you'll find it (imagine the nerve of the kabayan??!)

well, now i'm 6 years here i experience a lot of FILIPINO VS FILIPINOS as you say.... hirap kasi kapag pinagbigyan mo isa pagbibigyan mo na lahat....

As long as you are doing your job well and you think its for the best then continue doing so without any hesitations or regrets... who needs friends when those friend were the one who will pull you down later on??? Be professional and later on they will understand I HOPE...

GOODLUCK.....

I am not surprised at your predicament, but then again, it is a well known fact that loyalty factor is at its lowest in most filipino employees...hence you find very (very) few filipinos in the management team of reputed major international companies.

just do your work and treat them professionally....even myself sometimes i did not feel comfortable with my one fellow filipino here in my office...but i tried to work with him professionally....i have lot of friends filipino and other nationalities but to my one filipino office mate para hindi ko feel na friend kami...

with the saying "Familiarity breeds contempt?"

you should by all means distance yourself away from them as being close to them you might lose your objective in evaluating their performance.

for you, what is more important?gaining friends in the workplace or gaining respect from your boss?

if they feel you are being strict thats because you are on top of the team and every mess-up that they do will all be reflected on you and only you alone.

i would suggest that you just go with whatever you must do.

don't try covering other people asses or mistakes, since if worst comes to worst they (the ones who tries convincing you doing the cover-ups) would not care at all nor support if your boss find the crime... and you can't keep the dead bodies in the closets for long. they will stink eventually and be found out.

hence, you will be left behind on your own feeling sorry.

out here in the corporate wilds, it's up to us and to each his own covering self's ass.
