Hi,
Are there any malaysians on QL who could help guide me about a holiday in Malaysia?
I'm looking at visiting for about 7nights going from Singapore. I would be interested in visiting Melaka,KL, Penang and Kota Bharu. Haven't been able to find an itinerary to suit so far. Would anyone have suggestions about tour operaters or an itinerary to help?

Many thanks.

I think its doable. Try this link --->

Melaka - 1 night (the Portuguese port historical area)

KL - 3 nights (KLCC Twin towers, ChinaTown, butterfly gardens, Golden Triangle area, Putrajaya night tour)

Penang - 2 nights (chinese temples, nightmarkets, the beaches)

Kota Bharu - 1 night (malay fishing village homestay maybe?)

A better option:

Melaka - 1 night

KL - 2 nights (KLCC, ChinaTown, all gardens, Putrajaya)

Penang - 2 nights

Langkawi - 2 nights

Self drive with a map is more fun plus you get to really meet people.

Thank you, have decided to stick to one coast, am I better of using public transport or join a tour or self drive?

Muffin, earlier this year I did KL, Penang and Malacca in TWO weeks. As Bunga says, you will only scratch the surface if you try to do too much.

You can get the train from Sing to Malacca (via Tampin), and it's cheap and quick enough. From Malacca to KL and onward to Penang is very slow by train, I did it once and will not do it again. Better to fly or get a bus.

Malacca you will need about 3 days, Penang another 3 which gives you one day to travel between the two.

Hi Muffin,

With 4 cities to visit, it is a tough call in 7 days. My suggestion is to reduce to 2 or 3 cities only. I presume you will return from Singapore to Doha as well ? If this is so, you will need to factor return trip to Singapore as well.
