How to bring in my Nepali maid from India to Doha

Greetings to all QL members!

Hey there. I am new member from India. Will be shifting to Doha by the end of September. My husband has joined Qatar Airways, I have two children aged 7 and 3.We will be staying at ain Khalid ( wonder where that is ).

I have a maid-cum-cook here in Delhi and I want to bring her along with me to Doha. Doeas anyone have any idea how to go about the formalities, whom to approach and whether can we bring her at all? I read somewhere on the web that Nepal has banned her women from working as house maids in GCC countries. Does that mean that we might now be able to get her in Doha? She is very dear to us and is a part of our family.

Looking forward to your valuable inputs.

Cheers,

Gaury

Hello Gaury! My husband is from QR as well. You can sponsor a maid once all your papers works are done. Since you maid is a nepali, there wouldn't be any problem coz you can only sponsor maid different from your nationality. QR will provide you the letter for Government service then fill up the form...you can ask from there. Once you're in Ain Khalid, you can get inputs from the people there since they have one of their own. Best of Luck! Welcome to Qatar and QR.

I presume that this maid has a Nepali passport. From what I could understand from this website (http://www.nembdoha.org.qa/recruitment.htm#4) is that you will not be able to recruit her directly. You may have to go through one of the authorized agents.

Please go through the website. Maybe it will help you.

Hi

Welcome to doha & may your add prospects & plesantness to your life.

Ain khalid is near to Sports stadium, a nice place with easy access to shopping malls but a bit overloaded with traffic congestion because of on going road works :-) here & there ... Enjoy!

As you might be aware there are several formalities need to be carried out to obtain your resident permit (medical+finger prints). Once you complete those and get your RP ready, you will find out the possibilities of getting your maid in here. I dont think there will be a difficulty unless your maid is very young. Best of luck.

Wait for other QLER's to respond too...
