No worries - Glad to be of assistance.

You can buy the leads you need to connect to the TV next to the Mercure Hotel(was SOFITEL). Go to the right of the hotel, in the small door, upstairs to the far lefthand corner in a shop called "falcon trading". You can buy leads there for the PC and MAC! You need a lead for the picture one for the sound. I think you might only need one HDMI lead if you have HDMI output on your PC (I'm not sure to be honest).

Also, I've just been experimenting and I have found that you can set your laptop up to use the TV screen as a second monitor. START, CONTROL PANEL, APPEARANCE AND PERSONALIZATION, ADJUST SCREEN RESOLUTION, then Click on screen marked with a huge number 2, then click below on "extend the desktop onto this monitor", then APPLY

That's it.

This means that you can then drag the LIVE TV window over to the TV screen, maximise it on the TV screen (the second monitor) and then you can STILL use you laptop for other things at the same time.

Looks really slick now! :))

Regards,

Hi All,

I just signed up for this VPN service that allows you to "appear" to be located in the UK (or US or Canada) and hence you can then access all the 'On demand' UK TV programmes via their UK websites (i.e. BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, Channel4 on demand) and it works brilliantly.

It basically costs £4.75 a month for a years subscription - or £6.50 if you pay monthly (we signed for a year for £57). I did a lot of research and I think this is the best option in terms of COST, QUALITY, and EASE OF SETUP (you just click on their "dialer" and it sets it all up for you automatically). The TV streams perfectly onto our flat screen from the laptop without any breaks in picture or sound. You can also download it in HD from the BBC and play that back, which is AMAZING QUALITY.

If you are interested click on the link below:

Once you have signed up for the VPN (if you decide to) you can then download "Zattoo" www.zattoo.com and you will be able to watch UK TV LIVE!!! or US TV with www.hulu.com or canadian TV.

I hope this might be useful to someone, please feel free to cut and paste the Lamnia link and pass it on.

You could also set up a proxy server in the UK and connect to that. You'd need someone to have their computer permanently on though.

Try banana VPN if you go that route. Only problem is Banana website is blocked by Qtel! You need to have someone with a VPN sign you up or someone back in the UK.

You will need to buy a years subscription to a VPN.

Search VPN on google and you should find a few site willing to sell you access for a year.

You are looking at about £80 for a year
