French Schools

Hi,

I was wondering if any of you have children in either the Lycee Bonaparte or the Lycee Voltaire to get him into the french education system ? I will be looking for a place for the academic year 2010, for my 2 year old son. Though we are not french passport holders, we were residents in France before coming to Qatar and both my children were born there.

I am interested to know about yearly fees if any of you encountered any problems getting a place and your general experiences with either of the two schools.

thanks in advance.....

It is not a question of packing the brat off early like most mums I love him to death we are not french as I have said we speak good french, There is a distinctive differnce from speakinfg good french to being fluent we don't want him to be at a disadvantage when we go back. As we have friends who are british nationals and speak french fluently, who's son was at a disadvantage when placed into the french school I don't want him to feel like that.

As I said only genuine responses and no nit picking, surely you all must have far better things to do with your time? or not?

Lycee Bonaparte have their priority for the french nationnality and they might put you under KIV. Why not try Voltaire as this is open for others.

FIY french kids start schooling at the age of 3..I'm very sad too when my little girl have to go to school at that age.

I rarely place anything on forums as 8 times out of ten they either turn into an attacking frenzy or people just miss the point...

Thanks to all that have genuinely posted.

I will contact the schools direct.

TeresW ....you speak Italian...by any chance?

Just wondering....ROFL

PS: If we had better things to do....would we be answering your questions...however genuine it was?

Moral of the Story: The only people to help you are the ones who don't have any better things to do.
