Hi everyone. This is Prabhakaran from India. Recently i have been offered a job as a Graduate Engineer trainee at Bin Thani Electromechanical and Trading Company at Doha in Qatar. I got this job offer through a manpower consultancy in India. They are asking me to handover my passport to the consultancy and within a period of 2 months they will issue my work visa. After my visa get approved they are asking me to pay some money to the consultancy.
Iam in a confused state whether to accept this offer or not. Because today there are a lot of job scams happening in this world. Please clarify my doubts. And in visa processing will the consultancy do cheats. How to find out these things..And tell me abt work permit\visit visas and how to note this.. Please help me..sorry for posting this many questions,...

You dont need to give original passport. Photocopy is sufficient. Also check with the actual employer whether they have such program to check authenticity.

Friend, for visa original passport is not required you should only give copy of it, because it only use to collect the infromation of you is NAME,DATE of BIRTH,Date of passport issue and place, Secondly never pay any money to manpower consultant if they offical agency they paid by company, moreover ask them to deduct the charges from you first salary, if they say it is not possible then they are not offical manpower consultant. GOOD LUCK

For processing your work permit or Entry Work Visa, U do not need to give u r passport, a photocopy of the passport is more than enough for processing. Once you get an Entry Visa, Once u arrive in Qatar u need to go to Qatar fr getting u r Work permit. Think before u do anything.

Regards

Dale

1. Your passport is your personal property, do not give it to anybody.

2. Your visa can be processed with a xerox copy of your Passport

3. Agency commission is paid by the employer to agency and not by the employee

4.Why two months delay in getting your visa, which leads to more confusion

5. Please feel free to contact the electro mechanical company you have mentioned in your post (through their website or email ID) about this particular vacancy and appointment

Do not pay anything to manpower consultancy for a job. The company pays them for recruiting people . Did you have a face to face interview by the company persons so far ?If Not , why not ? You do not have to handover your passport for a visa , only passport copy of front , back pages required to apply for a workvisa with your degree / diploma copy only and Police clearance certificate required -copy again.

For a Trainee , you should be offered a minimum salary of QAR 4000 + accomodation and transportation.

Otherwise no point going for it .

Stay where you are .

Never pay money to get a job. The hiring company should pay the agency, not you.
