Hi there, as per my opinion, both r great, they have equal technology in lcd. in the recent market may be u could get samsung bit cheaper and nicer looks for the same features and price. now it depends to your taste then, and to your budget platform. take to consideration also what brand is your dvd/blueray player, or your home theater system (if you have one). it will be good if they are came from the same manufacturer. but trust me if you play a hi-def media (blueray), both panels will deliver a pristine picture quality.
I would like to suggest LED-TV.New technology with superb colour,brightness, crystal clear pictures as if you are looking out of your home window,and it super slim in thickness like a picture/photo frame,very natural picture display too,I think highest of resolution in picture viewing ,now prices of this TV is some what high,but if you will wait for some more time,prices will come down, I think all the electronics companies in future will go in for this LED technology,like our ordinary CRT TV, LCD and Plasma TV will be outdated.
LED TV's (Samsung) are on display in LULU Hyper and departmental store.Have a look at them before you bye LCD/plasma.

In my experience I prefer Samsung only. Electronics professionals advice is Samsung. In LCD and LED nothing better than Samsung.
