New Maserati debuts in Qatar...
Alfardan Sports Motors Company, a member of Alfardan Group and the exclusive Maserati importer in Qatar, has announced the arrival of the Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic to its showrooms located at The Pearl-Qatar.
In line with Maserati’s commitment to introduce a new model at each international car show, the GranTurismo S Automatic recently premiered at the Geneva Auto Show drawing positive reviews from visitors and experts.
The new Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic features a 4.7l V8 engine which develops 440HP (323kW) at 7000rpm. The maximum torque is 490Nm at 4.750rpm.
The new model features some discreet yet marked stylistic changes which make it immediately recognisable: the new under-door mini-skirts feature a prominent shape, and the new 20” wheel rims (standard) with the brand new “Trident” design featuring spokes.
The GranTurismo S Automatic follows the launch of the Maserati GranTurismo and the GranTurismo S in 2007.
Alfardan Sports Motors Company general manager Mohamed Kandeel said that though the prevailing economic situation has put to test many businesses, Maserati has introduced new models and broke sales records across the globe year-on-year.
“The arrival of the Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic is a testament to that,” he said while explaining that the combination of the most powerful Maserati V8 engine on the GranTurismo and the smoothness of the ZF 6-speed electro-actuated automatic gearbox offer peak performance.
The Skyhook suspension system with continuously adjustable dampers, new generation of passenger air-bag with Low Risk Deployment functionality, Bluetooth® Technology offered as standard, and the Ipod® interface, available upon request, are among the features.
The GranTurismo S Automatic has steel bearing monocoque body with box-section panels and a structure constructed in sheet galvanised on both sides.
The car is a two-door coupé with four seats and a longitudinal centre-front engine with a rear wheel drive.
Derived from the Quattroporte structure, The GranTurismo S Automatic provides a reduced wheelbase, a dual-circuit Brembo brake system and rear overhang designed to satisfy the most stringent American crash standards.
“By all degrees, Maserati’s 2008 was the most successful year to date,” Kandeel asserted while pointing out that deliveries to the final customers have totalled almost 8,586 units, which is an all-time best result, with an increase of almost 17% over 2007.

Guess, you're right, wacky_baby.
It's a shame that they have all these speed limits here in Qatar. Poor Maserati! The engine's gonna rust.
I think I'll apply for a job with GT...
