Al Emadi Hospital

Hi.

I went to Al Emadi Hospital emergency because i was bit by an insect on my foot. I had to wait almost 1 hour for my turn to come even though i was in emergency. Since i was bit on the feet, walking was painful. But when i entered emergency, they told me to go to the reception and register first. I told them i cant walk but they refused to help by saying sorry you have to go and register first by showing me a notice saying " Go to Reception for registration first"

Cursing them in my heart i limped to the reception which was like 100 meters away from emergency. Registered and came back. Then they put me on wait for almost 30 minutes. Then they asked me to go and lie on the bed in one of their 4 examination rooms they have. I waited another 20 minutes when a lady doctor of an Arab descent entered with a very sad and unwelcoming face. Straight away she said what happened. I explained everything to her. Rather than examining in detail she said i will give you an Anti- Allergy and an injection. If that doesnt help, go to Hamad hospital and she walked out. I was like what the hell am i doing in Al Emadi if she is asking me to go to Hamad.

Anyways i accepted that behaviour and waited till the nurse to come for injection. After 10 minutes the nurse who could speak english hardly came in and asked me in sign language to lay on the bed for injection. I laid on the bed and she pierced the injection above my hip. It was extremely extremely painful...I didnt want to scream so i took the pillow in my teeth and closed my eyes...The pain was awful...It wasnt the first time i was having an injection in my life...but this one was like a bullet entering in me....

The nurse put the swab and asked me to rub it and she left the examination room straight away..I tried to get up with that awful pain to put my shoes on.. But that pain was so bad that it dragged me back to the bed...I waited for 5 minutes breathing and waiting for the pain to become low and limped out of the room. Took the prescription, than the medicine and went out of the hospital. It has been 3 weeks now and the pain is still there... God knows if that nurse was any experienced or not...

Moral is that i wasnt happy at all with the way these people at Al Emadi hospital treat patients...They have that 5 star look and feel....but is that important for a hospital or the quality of service....I will never ever go to that place again...

go on Malikdoha, complained to the higher management, and make sure that nurse is sacked. That will make your pain gone ...

Alexa only stating her experience nothing more nothing less ... same case like you stating yours.

Good for you Alexa.. that you are supporting people who have staff who doesnt know how to even give an injection to their patients... I am talking about a nurse who doesnt even kno whow to speak english plus how to give injection to a patient... Even after a month the bloody injection she gave me still hurts...

Its been almost a month now and this pain which i still have near my hip due to that inproper way of giving an injection from that incompetent nurse really impells me to got Al Emadi and take this matter to their higher management by complaining against that incompetent nurse...

I too found Emadi Hospital disappointing. I took a friend who had collapsed into emergency. He was kept waiting for over an hour and a half when there was only one other patient. The doctors were chatting at the counter.

The nurse was cordial, but didn't put the needle for the drip in properly. He had a large bruise on his arm for over a week afterwards.

I was sent to the pharmcy to get the medicine. Then sent back because the doctor hadn't filled in the form properly.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE !

Not being rude, however, just because you go to Emergency Room doesnt make your specific injury or complaint an actual emergency.

Believe me, with many, many, years of experience in and out of hospitals I can say your not going to be treated like gold coming in TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM with a bite on your foot unless your life is in immediate danger.

Again I feel your pain and not trying to be rude but just stating the facts! Hope your foot gets better.
