at Doha airport, can I pay for the tourist visa (for EU-citizen) using cash (Eur, US$) ? Or do they only accept credit cards ? Do they accept maestro cards ?
At immigration do they just swipe the card ? Or do they print out a receipt, then you sign it, then they check your signature and that the name on the card match the name in the passport ?
So I've heard that there could be some way to pay by cash: apparently there exists a machine that takes cash and issues a voucher, or there is a bank in the arrivals hall that issues a voucher for cash. The voucher can then be used at immigration in place of a credit card.
BTW Qatarisun, now we are EU citizens holding EU passports issued by individual countries. This is the future which the world needs, that we subsume our nationality in a wider community existing under a similar set of laws and standards. In each of 27 countries I can expect no real discrimination, no barrier to movement, except in certain limited cases, and ability to use the same currency in 11 different countries with more queueing up to join. It always amuses me that passports were invented for Governments to ask others to help their citizens, now they are used for the opposite purposes!
I believe that there is a machine which will accept cash and issue you with a card if u have cash, don't know about Maestro, but if it was me I would come, ask someone in the queue to pay for your visa preferably from the same plane, if all else fails, give them the cash! I would not refuse and neither would many others! Speak up and people will help you, no one in Doha wants to refuse entry just because u haven't got a CC!
there is no such thing like UE citizen. First, check whether your country is within 33 countries that are allowed getting visa on arrival. Second, you have to pay by your Credit Card, no cash is accepted.
For sure. They dont accept cash. Only credit card. Doesnt specify if its citi card, chase, capital and etc.... but i did used my Visa and Master card( Chase card)....

Hi,
A friend might borrow me his credit card.
At immigration do they just swipe the card ? Or do they print out a receipt, then you sign it, then they check your signature and that the name on the card match the name in the passport ?
What is the payment process ?
Thanks for any help.

Hi, thanks everyone for the replies.

Can somebody confirm or deny this ?
